It has been a year since the isolated Alaskan town of Barrow's population was decimated by vampires during its annual month long sunset. Riddled with grief over the death of her husband Eben, bound by nightmares and void of all emotions beyond hate and sorrow, Stella Oleson has spent the past months traveling the world, trying to convince others that vampires exist.

Trivia Lillith bathing in blood is a clear reference to Elizabeth Bathory, a 16th and 17th century countess who supposedly killed numerous young women and bathed in their blood, in an attempt to retain her youth. She and with Vlad III the Impaler are the most common historical figures to be re-imagined as a vampire in popular culture. Goofs Although it is obvious in the film that vampires are extremely vulnerable to UV light, the hunters use firearms and knives only to fight them.

The original film surprised me as it was much better than I thought it would be - cheesy in places but the Vampires themselves were quite disturbing and by far the best I had seen for a few years in any Vampire film.
Unfortunately, in this follow up they lose all of the menace they had first time around, they don't even speak in their 'native' tongue and it becomes an all too familiar standard modern day Vamp flick. Vampires flock to Barrow, Alaska, where the sun sets for about 30 days, allowing them to feed without the burden of sleep to avoid lethal sunlight.
When the vampire elder Vicente learns of this plan, he travels to Barrow to end the feeding, in order to preserve the secrecy of vampires. Because of the cold, the vampires' senses are weakened and a few of the town's residents are able to hide.
One such resident is Sheriff Eben Oleson, who saves the town by injecting vampire blood into his veins.
